yves saint laurent automne hiver 1968 black satin fringe tunic
yves saint laurent automne hiver 1968 black satin tunic with fringe hem. this collection was a somber one, as saint laurent was mourning the vietnam war and created this all black collection in protest against it. (also shown is a sheer ostrich jumpsuit from the collection.) the show closed with a vietnamese bride in silver lamé holding an 18 inch high symbolic candle. the tunic features off-center button closures that reach up to the mock neck collar. there is a slightly full shape to the sleeve at the cuff. the tunic is unlined but slightly heavier in weight.
