a lot of designers work with plisse fabric-- jo buckler is a london-based designer (circa 1990s/early 2000s) whose pieces are a bit harder to come by and more architectural (true art-to-wear pieces) than some more ubiquitous names. her pieces tend to be three-dimensional and almost wearable sculptures.
this slate gray silk plisse top is a great example of her work. it features asymmetric seams that piece together plisse pieces cut to point at different angles, creating an effect that feels like fabric in motion, like waves of pleating. there's an oversized collar and the sleeves have an interesting, angular shape. a beautiful art piece and great addition for a collector or lover of plisse pieces.
