christian dior by john galliano circa 2006 fringe halter dress
a christian dior by john galliano circa 2006 fringe knit halter dress. this dress features a knit silk blend champagne colored fringe in three tiers that move independently as you walk, a deep v halter bodice and open back with satin strap that ties into a bow behind the neck. there is a bubble hem where the end of the fringe meets the knit under dress-- the under dress is fitted with the fringe outer dress a bit more loose.
the beauty of this dress really lies in its architecture and its construction-- the way the edge glides along the bust at the side of the dress and continues to perfectly pool at the open back. subtly seductive and just revealing enough. the construction of this piece is also incredibly intricate, with the fringe that is connected to the braided horizontal bands— the outer dress is all one long piece of silk fringe they were able to weave into the shape of a dress.
seen on charlize theron at the premiere of "Sleepwalking" hosted by The Cinema Society and Dior Beauty in March 2006 in New York City.
