a chanel spring 1999 black silk carwash pleat skirt, featuring overlapping panels that have some weight and open as you walk. small chanel plaque at the side of the waist and hidden side zip closure.

sometimes you can feel a designer’s mind at work in a more youthful collection—  karl was definitely experimenting with panels that season and the collection this skirt was a part of almost feels more like prada with its minimal architectural feel (down to the asymmetric long panel of hair that mimics the panels in the skirts.) including some photos from the rest of the collection here.
