1973 halston cashmere long cardigan dress

a 1973 vintage halston cashmere cardigan / dress in a heather baby blue. the pure scottish cashmere knit has a bit of a heavier weight, is more substantial. this piece can be worn as a cardigan and is great thrown over the shoulders, as seen on the 1973 runway, or buttoned up all the way as a dress. 

in the book "halston; an american original", they talk about halston's cashmere pieces and quote polly mellon as saying: "his cashmere pieces to the floor... weren't just tubes: they had armholes, were neat on top, yet very cozy and at the same time elegant". it is said that they were inspired by a close associate that was a dance instructor and were intended to give the body complete freedom.

no tag size, can fit a small to medium, shown on a size small model. in excellent condition.
